After numerous proposals from the legislators in making President Corazon Aquino a national hero, to honor her unparralled contribution to the country Central Bank has revealed the inclusion of Cory’s portrait beside Ninoy’s in the 500-Peso bill. This may happen in the next batch of ‘new genearation’ Philippine bills. The bill is colored mostly yellow which is also the color and symbol of democracy that the couple had fought for.
If this happens, it is going to be the country’s 1st banknote to have a married couple’s portrait in it.

GMA in 200-Peso Bill.
I was largely surprised when I had the chance to scrutinize the 200-Peso bill out of boredom. It has been circulating since 2002 but I haven’t notice something worth noticing.
The front side of the banknote features the portrait of President Diosdado Macapagal and the Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite.
The back side of it has a scene from EDSA II, with Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo being sworn in as president by Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr. in January 2001 with Cecilia Paz Razon Abad, the little girl in the middle, holding a bible.
I am not sure if GMA holds the record of being the first living President featured in a legal tender.
